TV Shows: Dr. Who

So yesterday, knowing that the last episode of Dr. Who was going to be shown on Disney, last night, we sat and binged watched the whole thing, beginning to end.

And …

Unpopular opinion:

What a white hot mess!

Uneven to say the least, spotty story telling, and that’s being generous. Iffy direction and then, the CGI? Just totally over the top. Never mind the acting. Does everyone have to run around screaming and yelling all the damn time?

Out of all the episodes, which, quite frankly I felt like I needed to watch on double speed with the sound turned to the minimum (but didn’t) THE WELL was the only one that came in as being anything remotely watchable. Here we were actually presented with something that felt like science fiction. There was actually a smidgen of decent story telling, along with a decent cast that gave gravity to the situation everyone found themselves in. And, to be honest, this would have been a great episode without the Doctor and Belinda in.

As for the rest of the madcap show? I doubt it’s going to get any better with Billie Piper suddenly taking on the roll, as Ncuti Gatwa (bowing out after only 2 seasons) leaving us wondering if Piper is going to a) be wearing silly clothes, b) seen frantically running around set as if on speed. Or something far worse?

Bring back Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman, all is forgiven.
